Prof. Anargiros (Argiris) I. Delis

Anargiros (Argiris) I. Delis holds a Mathematics degree from the University of Crete, Greece, an M.Sc. degree in Numerical Analysis and Computing from Manchester University and UMIST, U.K., and received his PhD in Computational and Applied Mathematics from the University of the West of England, Bristol, U.K. in 1998.

From 1994 to 1998, he was a Research and Teaching Assistant with the Faculty of Computer Studies and Mathematics at the University of the West of England, Bristol. From September 1998 to May 2000, he served his military service at the Hellenic Airforce. From 2000 to 2003 he was a visiting professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Crete, Greece. He was elected as a Lecturer in Computational Mathematics at the Department of Sciences (Division of Mathematics) at the Technical University of Crete in 2003, as an Assistant Professor in 2008, as a tenure Assistant Professor in 2012, and as an Associate Professor at the School of Production Engineering & Management in June 2013. He is a member of the Applied Mathematics and Computer Lab at the Department of Sciences since 2004 and a collaborative member at the Foundation of Research and Technology Hellas-Institute of Computational and Applied Mathematics (FORTH-IACM) since 2007.

His research interests are focused on the numerical solution of PDE’s, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Scientific Computing with emphasis to environmental, geophysical flows and transport phenomena. He is the author and a coauthor of several technical papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings and participates in EU and national research and development projects.
