Prof. Ioannis K. Nikolos

Ioannis K. Nikolos received the Diploma degree and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Athens, Greece, in 1990 and 1996 respectively.

From 1991 to July 1996, he worked as a Research Assistant with the Laboratory of Thermal Turbomachines, School of Mechanical Engineering, NTUA. From Nov. 1996 to May 1998 he served his military service with the Greek Army. From July 1998 to Nov. 1998 he worked as a project manager in NTUA. From Sept. 1998 to July 2001 he worked as an Adjunct Lecturer with the Technical Educational Institute of Athens, Greece. From March 2000 to Feb. 2001 he worked as a Research Associate with the Laboratory of Thermal Turbomachines, NTUA. From Sep. 2001 to Feb. 2003 he worked as an Adjunct Lecturer with the Technical Educational Institute of Crete, Chania, Greece. From 1999 to Jan. 2003 he worked as a Research Associate with the Intelligent Systems and Robotics Laboratory, Department of Production Engineering and Management, Technical University of Crete (TUC), Chania, Greece. From Oct. 1998 to Jan. 2003 he worked as an Adjunct Lecturer with the Department of Production Engineering and Management and the Department of General Sciences, TUC, Chania Greece. Since 2003 he has been with the School of Production Engineering and Management, TUC, working as a Lecturer (since January 2003), as an Assistant Professor (since March 2009), and as an Associate Professor (since June 2013).

He is a coauthor of 2 books in Internal Combustion Engines, published by the Eugenides Foundation, and one book in Production Technologies, published by the Technical University of Crete. He is an author or coauthor of more than 50 technical papers in scientific journals and book chapters, and more than 100 technical papers in conference proceedings. His main research interests include computational fluid dynamics, thermal turbomachines, engineering design optimization and traffic flow modelling. He is a Senior Member of A.I.A.A., and Member of A.S.M.E. and I.E.E.E. He is Associate Editor with the ASME Journal of Fluids Engineering.
